Ashan joined Gresham House in November 2022 as an Assistant Fund Accountant in our Strategic Equity team.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Ashan was a trainee Chartered Accountant for Dixon Wilson Chartered Accountants. Prior to this, he spent three years in the property rental and development sector as an Investment Analyst.
Ashan has a BSc (Hons) in Economics from the University of Bristol and is ACA part-qualified.
Kevin is the Chief Financial Officer for Gresham House plc and has over 19 years of finance and operational experience in private equity. Kevin joined Gresham House from Oaktree Capital Management where he was a senior vice president responsible for finance and operations in the European Principal team covering private equity and debt opportunity funds. Prior to joining Oaktree, Kevin was Director – Group Reporting and Valuations at 3i Group plc.
Kevin qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. He also holds a BCom from the University of Edinburgh.
Mike joined Gresham House in February 2023.
Mike co-founded MedicX Group in 2005 and grew it to become one of the leading UK healthcare investors with over £1.5bn under management when it was sold to Octopus Capital in 2014. Mike then became CEO of Octopus Healthcare before becoming Chairman in 2018. In 2019 he led the £2.5bn all share merger between MedicX Fund and Primary Health Properties.
Mike is a qualified chartered surveyor, holds a BSc in Land Management from the University of Reading and has over 30 years of experience in real estate investment and fund management.
Mike is also the Chairman of Shoreline Partners, a specialist asset manager in the healthcare sector.
Simon joined Gresham House in December 2022.
Simon has over 25 years’ experience in corporate advisory, private equity, M&A, debt advisory, strategic business planning, performance improvement and board governance. He has led over a dozen successful private equity exits and is an experienced non-executive director.
Before joining Gresham House, Simon was a Partner, Head of Portfolio and member of the Investment Committee at Bowmark Capital. He also co-chaired the Exit and Valuations Committees. Prior to that, he was Senior Portfolio Director at Lloyds Development Capital.
Before his career in private equity, Simon spent nearly 20 years as an advisor, initially at KPMG in Birmingham before moving to Deloitte in 2005. At Deloitte, Simon was a Partner and Head of UK regional Corporate Advisory, a business he established to advise fast growing mid-market privately owned and private equity backed businesses across the UK regions.
During his time as an advisor, Simon completed several corporate secondments in board level roles to help companies including a large construction company, multinational airline, global consumer product manufacturer, football league club and UK based listed retailer. He also has extensive international experience, including a two-year secondment to Melbourne Australia with Deloitte. Simon has worked across a variety of sectors, in particular healthcare, education, retail, TMT, infrastructure and construction.
Simon is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAEW). He holds a Bachelor of Social Science (B.Soc.Sc) degree in Money, Banking and Finance from the University of Birmingham.
Maxwell joined Gresham House in October 2022 and is a Condition Monitoring Engineer, responsible for controls, monitoring and reporting on the general condition of the bulk battery storage system.
Maxwell previously worked as a Power System Engineer at Ghana Grid Company.
Maxwell has a Bachelors’ in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and a Masters’ in Renewable Energy from the University of Aberdeen.
Zara joined Gresham House in January 2021. She is based in the Oxford office, managing client requests and queries across the Group with an emphasis on Baronsmead VCTs, Mobeus VCTs and Forestry.
Prior to joining Gresham House Zara spent four years in the Hospitality industry working in Guest Relations, Events and Marketing & Partnership roles for Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons and Thyme.
Zara is currently studying part-time for a BA (Hons) in History of Arts & Humanities.
Simon is a Chartered Forester with over ten years of private and public sector experience.
He holds a BSc in Forestry from Bangor University, graduating in 2008.
Caroline joined Gresham House’s Real Assets team as a Finance Manager in August 2021, and her remit within the Real Assets team includes New Energy, Forestry and Wind funds.
Caroline has over 10 years’ experience within the commercial sector in both South Africa and England. She has worked as an accountant in various industries such as engineering, higher education and most recently, property.
Caroline is CIMA qualified and has a BCom degree specialising in Financial Management.
James joined Gresham House in May 2018, following the acquisition of FIM Services Ltd.
James is Fund Manager of Gresham House Solar Distribution LLP. James takes an active role in the day-to-day management of the fund including reporting, asset management, capital rising, acquisition of new assets and conducting valuations. Prior to joining Gresham House, he worked at J.P. Morgan, RWE Supply and Trading and latterly at Computershare Investor Services as an Equity Dealer, managing a range of global share plans and option schemes on behalf of corporate clients.
James has over ten years of experience in financial services and holds a BA (Hons) in Business Administration from the University of Plymouth. He has also obtained the Investment Management Certificate and is enrolled as a Level II candidate in the CFA program.
Clive joined Gresham House in 2021 as part of the Mobeus VCTs acquisition. He is an investment management specialist with experience across a wide variety of sectors and stages of company development. He has worked in the private equity industry since 1995 making investments including TeleCity and Kerridge Commercial Systems. He has been working in the VCT industry since 2008 with previous experience including running his own business and as a Director of NVM Private Equity, Catapult Venture Managers and 3i plc.
Having specialised in portfolio management, Clive has acted as non-executive director and Chairman of a wide range of private equity backed businesses such as Virgin Wines, Entanet and Equip Outdoor Technologies. He now heads VCT portfolio management across the Gresham House VCT stable, sits on the Investment Committee and has responsibility for the portfolio valuations processes.
Clive holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Physics & Electronics from Durham University, a DipM from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and an MBA from the University of Warwick.
Based in our Oxford office, Suzy works in the asset management team for our renewables portfolio. Suzy has been involved in the construction, financing and operational management of over 100 MW of onshore wind and solar assets on behalf of investors.
Previously, Suzy worked as a Senior Investment Analyst for Sun Life Financial of Canada and Lincoln Financial Group.
Suzy holds a first-class BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Bath.
Peter is Managing Director of Gresham House’s Sustainable Infrastructure division and Fund Manager for our British Sustainable Infrastructure Fund (BSIF) strategy. He is also a member of the Gresham House Sustainability Executive Committee and the Gresham House Asset Management Board.
Prior to Gresham House, Peter led the investment and exit of the Sustainable Infrastructure-focused Environmental Capital Fund (ECF) for SEP, one of Europe’s most successful VC firms.
With over 22 years of public and private equity investment, development and fund management experience, including two top-decile infrastructure fund exits, he has invested into and exited over 200 infrastructure and technology companies across all sectors with an equity value of over £1.7bn and capital value of c.£5.5bn.
Peter has had board member roles on over 90 investee companies and is a Senior Associate of the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership (CISL). Peter is also an active investor in early-stage sustainability companies.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with honours and two further Bachelor degrees in Finance (BFin) and Commerce (BCom), all from the University of Adelaide, and is a proud graduate of CISL’s Business Sustainability Management programme.
Charlie joined Gresham House in May 2023 to assist the Housing team with all of their reporting.
Charlie has over three years’ of professional experience working for Langham Hall, a Fund Administrator in the Real Estate sector, where he gained valuable experience as the main preparer for all deliverables across seven Real Estate Funds with an AUM of £0.8bn. During his time at Langham Hall, Charlie was promoted to Assistant Fund Accountant and was the main point of contact for all client correspondence and annual audits.
Charlie is currently completing his ACCA exams to become a qualified accountant and holds a BSc. in Economics from the University of Sheffield, graduating with a first-class degree.
Jamie joined Gresham House in March 2023 as HR Manager.
She will be contributing to the development and review of HR policies, procedures and best practice in a generalist HR capacity. She is a trusted advisor on a broad range of HR issues covering the full employee life cycle.
Her most recent role was at OakNorth bank, providing specialist advice on the people regulatory aspects of HR (focusing on SMCR).
Prior to this, Jamie worked for 14 years at Daiwa Capital Markets, a fast-paced Japanese investment bank as an Associate Director. In this role she was responsible for providing full generalist HR support and leading on HR project work, including the implementation of a performance management system.
She holds a CIPD post graduate qualification in Management and Human Resources.
Lorna joined Gresham House in August 2023.
Before joining Gresham House Lorna worked at the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) for three and a half years, specialising in marketing and events.
Lorna holds a BA (Hons) in English Literature from Goldsmiths University of London.
Phil joined Gresham House as Senior Legal Counsel in June 2021 from Allen & Overy LLP. He has over ten years’ legal experience specialising in funds and asset management. His role at Gresham House focuses on fund formation and structuring, working alongside the sales and distribution team, as well as advising on existing funds and mandates across the business.
Phil is a qualified lawyer and holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree from University College London.
Donald joined Gresham House in July 2022 as an Investment Manager in Harvesting. He is responsible for the marketing and management of timber sales.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Donald was a Harvesting Manager for a sawmilling business and was involved in the purchase and management of timber harvesting.
He has over eight years of experience in the forestry industry and holds a BSc in Sustainable Forest Management from the University of the Highlands and Islands.
Donald also qualified as a Professional Member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters in 2022.
Stephen joined Gresham House in May 2018 following the acquisition of FIM Services Ltd, where he had served as Chief Financial Officer and Compliance Officer since 2013. Prior to this, Stephen worked at E.ON, where he held a variety of financial and commercial roles from 2000 onwards, ranging from leading large finance teams, developing power station projects, M&A transactions, and working with HM Government delivering low carbon solutions. His experience includes leading on the commercial aspects of the acquisition of the Staffordshire Street Lighting project and the sale of Horizon Nuclear Power to Hitachi.
Stephen began his career at PwC in 1996 and trained as a Chartered Accountant with an emphasis on corporate tax issues. He has 24 years of industry experience and is a law graduate and Barrister, having been called to the Bar in 1996.
Rob has over 30 years of financial services experience. Rob joins us from Ahren Innovation Capital, a boutique venture capital fund manager, where he was Chief Financial Officer responsible for finance, operations, compliance, HR and IT. Prior to joining Ahren, Rob was Head of Finance and Fund Administration at Eikoh Research Investment Management, a Japanese equity hedge fund manager. Rob is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Sophie joined Gresham House in September 2021 as a Marketing Associate. Sophie works alongside the rest of the marketing team to promote the Gresham House brand across all marketing activities.
Before joining Gresham House Sophie worked at Rathbones for three and a half years, specialising in digital marketing. Prior to that she led the professional development programme at the Investor Relations Society.
Sophie holds a BA (Hons) in International Business and is currently studying towards the Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing with the CIM.
Andrew joined Gresham House in November 2022 as Senior Legal Counsel in our Legal team.
Andrew is a specialist funds solicitor and provides legal support to our fundraising and distribution teams. Before joining Gresham House, Andrew was Senior Counsel in the Travers Smith LLP investment funds team, where he advised private fund managers and institutional investors. Prior to that, Andrew was a pensions solicitor and in total has over 14 years’ experience in the financial industry.
Andrew is a qualified solicitor in England and Wales, and holds an LLB (Law) degree from the University of Nottingham.
Ben joined Gresham House Ireland (formerly Appian Asset Management) in May 2021.
He is a graduate of the Waterford Institute of Technology and the University of Limerick where he received his MSc in International Management and Global Business.
He has previously worked in State Street, Capita and most recently Société Générale.
He has the Professional Certificate in Investment Fund Services from the Institute of Bankers and also received an Outstanding Student Award from his time in the University of Limerick.
Jamie joined Gresham House in October 2022 as a Client Services Associate within our Institutional Distribution team.
He previously spent five years at Cazenove, the wealth management arm of Schroders as a Client Services Executive within their Charities team. Prior to that, Jamie worked within the UK Retail Sales team at Schroders.
Jamie holds the CFA Institute Investment Foundations Certificate and Unit 1 of the IMC.
David joined Gresham House in October 2022 and is an Associate Director in our Public Equity investment team.
David has five years Investment Banking experience, most recently working at Lazard. Prior to this he worked at Investec providing M&A, ECM, and strategic advisory services to public and private institutions, and spent four years at PwC where he qualified as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant.
David graduated from Oxford University in 2014, with a Master’s degree in Engineering Science.
Tom joined Gresham House plc in June 2021.
He works within the asset management team, covering all aspects of operational forestry for several individual and portfolio clients. He has worked in the UK forestry sector since 2013 and, prior to joining Gresham House, was leading a three-person forest management team covering south west Scotland.
Tom has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town and later went on to gain an MSc in Forest Management from Newton Rigg
Fund Manager; responsible for management of in-forest operations and fund reporting. Post qualification, he worked as a forest manager on the full spectrum of forest activities, with a particular emphasis on adding value through bare land planting. In 2004, he moved to the Forestry Commission where he held various responsibilities including regulatory compliance role over the industry’s private sector. Latterly he was project manager of an IT project, and represented the Forestry Commission on the SEARS (Scotland’s Environmental & Rural Services) programme of organisational change. In 2012 he joined Gresham House Forestry and is one of the teams qualified chartered foresters.
Greg joined the Mobeus VCT team in 2013. He sources and executes investments into fast-growing businesses and is our resident consumer expert. He combines a natural flair for understanding the drivers of brand value, insight into wider market dynamics and strong corporate finance experience. He sits on the Boards of Buster + Punch and Bleach London.
Greg joined Mobeus from Piper Private Equity and previously worked at PwC in Corporate Finance.
He holds a BA/ ACC in Business Studies & Accounting from the University of Edinburgh and is a Chartered Accountant (ICAS).
Peter joined Gresham House in January 2021 and is responsible for the unsubsidised renewables and collocation strategy within the New Energy team.
Peter has 14 years’ energy investment experience. Prior to joining Gresham House, Peter was an Investment Director at Foresight Group, where he worked for seven years. Whilst at Foresight, Peter focused on the European renewable energy sector, leading deals across the full project lifecycle (development capital, greenfield, brownfield and exit processes) and actively managing assets post-investment.
From 2012-2014, Peter was part of the Mergers & Acquisitions Team at Gazprom Marketing & Trading, working on power generation, metering and energy supply transactions. He started his career in PwC’s Deals Strategy team, advising financial and strategic buyers in the energy sector.
Peter is passionate about the need for further renewable energy deployment and has a track-record working with developers on complex greenfield projects.
He holds a BA in Geography from the University of Oxford.
Abby joined Gresham House in August 2022 as an Administration Assistant within the Oxford Administration team.
Abby predominantly assists the Senior Executive Administrators as well as providing organisation to the Oxford office.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Abby worked for a pet retailer as a store manager.
Ellie joined Gresham House in February 2021 as an administrative assistant for the Forestry team. Ellie has eight years’ experience working within the financial services sector in both administrative and operational roles.
She holds a BSc in Equestrian Sports Science from Nottingham Trent University.
Sean is a member of the Institute of Banking with over 38 years experience in the financial services industry. Sean has worked / lived in Waterford, Thurles, Kilkenny and Cork holding branch manager, area and regional management positions. Sean now lives in Cork and is Appian’s South of Ireland business development manager.
John joined Gresham House Ireland as Head of Operations in June 2021. He has over 17 years’ experience in financial services, holding senior roles in Citi, State Street and BNY Mellon having previously worked in the insurance and retail banking sectors. Most recently he was responsible for global client on-boarding for Brown Brothers Harriman. He holds an honours degree in Financial Services, Economics & Management in addition to professional qualifications in International Financial Markets & Financial Services Applications awarded by UCD.
Elizabeth joined Gresham House as part of our acquisition of TradeRisks in March 2020.
Elizabeth supports the Housing and TradeRisks teams, covering Local Authority debt transactions and Housing Association business plan analysis.
Prior to joining, Elizabeth spent four years at EY in the audit department, with a focus on asset management and private equity companies. Elizabeth has four years of professional experience and is a Chartered Accountant.
She holds a first-class honours degree in Mathematics from Durham University and is currently studying towards the CFA qualification.
Co-Founder and MD of Real Estate, Gresham House Ireland. He has over 35 years experience in property and investment management and was previously Managing Director of Treasury Holdings Ireland having joined the company in 2000. Before that he was Head of Property with AIB Investment Managers Ltd.
In 2001 he served as President of the Society of Chartered Surveyors in Ireland (SCSI). He is a Fellow of the SCSI and of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He has an MBA from University College Dublin and was the Chairman of the Urban Land Institute Ireland.
Simon brings over 30 years’ experience of supporting, financing and advising SMEs to Gresham House and the Mobeus VCTs. He joined Mobeus as a Portfolio Director in March 2021 and represents the team on the board of several businesses. Simon is a generalist with particular experience in ecommerce, contract laboratories and branded outdoor clothing and accessories.
His previous roles include Equity Partner and Board member at Dains Accountants, Corporate Finance roles at Smith Cooper and Deloitte, and NatWest Development as a Capital Investment Executive.
Simon is a past winner of Insider E. Midlands – Dealmaker of the Year, Advisory Team of the Year and Deal of the Year (Equip/ Rab and Trekmates) and holds a BEng in Engineering Science from the University of Reading.
James is an Investment Manager at Gresham House. James moved to the New Energy team in 2019 after joining Gresham House in 2018 as part of Gresham House Ventures, having previously been at Livingbridge since 2016.
James’ current role covers a broad range of work across fund management and new investments, primarily focused on energy storage and renewables. Amongst other things he is responsible for modelling for the energy storage fund, both at fund level and for new investments drawing on his experience and understanding of BESS markets. Prior to joining the New Energy team, he worked as an Analyst covering mostly early-stage companies in the Venture Capital and Equity Fund vehicles as part of Gresham House Ventures. This role provided experience with investment decisions across a variety of markets as well as exposure to growth companies and management of quoted investment vehicles.
His career started in TMT audit at EY where he spent three years and qualified as a chartered accountant.
James holds a first-class Master’s degree in Mathematics from Durham University.
Samuel has joined Gresham House as a Q&M Engineer in our New Energy team.
Before Gresham House, Samuel served in the military between 2009 and 2022, gaining a wealth of experience including but not exhaustive of working in a team, clear, concise and timely passage of information, diligence, and sheer determination.
After exiting the military in 2022, Samuel has gained vast experience in renewable energy, particularly Solar PV, and has worked on and completed a 3.8-megawatt Solar project at Sky Studios in Borehamwood.
Samuel will be responsible for ensuring maintenance and availability across our New Energy sites.
Kim joined as Finance Assistant in the Real Assets team in October 2023.
Previously she was an Accountant and Admissions Administrator for the Campion Hall part of the University of Oxford.
Caitlin joined Gresham House in May 2022. Caitlin previously worked at Agilia Infrastructure Partners, an independent specialist consultancy firm, as an Analyst and spent a year at St. James’s Place Wealth Management in Edinburgh.
Caitlin holds a BA (Hons) in International Relations from Durham University.
With over 20 years in private equity, Hazel is an experienced investor and director, and has helped build numerous quality boards. Hazel qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen before spending a few years in corporate finance with British Linen Bank advising public and private companies.
She joined 3i in 1993 and in 2000 opened a London private equity office for Bowman Capital, a $6bn hedge fund with $750m for private equity. She invested throughout Europe before gaining operational experience by heading up the UK for Cross Atlantic Capital Partners. Since 2000, Hazel has been sitting on boards for private equity and independently and since 2006, she has been formally helping companies build quality boards and management teams.
Hazel joined Gresham House in March 2019. She continues to help create and maintain quality teams and is a Non-Executive Director at Parsley Box, a food delivery firm.
Alicia joined Gresham House in September 2022.
Prior to joining, Alicia worked as a Finance Business Partner for an industry leader in the development and running of retirement homes in New Zealand.
Following graduation, Alicia qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC and went on to work in their Financial Advisory team with a variety of clients including property developers and real estate companies.
Rob joined Gresham House in November 2015. He is a member of the Forestry Investment Committee.
Rob joined the group from Aitchesse Ltd where he was a Company Director for two years and Head of Acquisitions for three years. Prior to joining Aitchesse Ltd, Rob spent five years at CNBC Europe as a technical analyst covering financial news. Following this, he was managing his own consultancy business specialising in carbon management and commercial forestry for two years. Rob has 11 years of investment experience in the commercial forestry sector, investing in the UK and globally.
He holds a Master’s degree in environmental economics from Glasgow University and a Bachelor of Art in engineering from Southampton Solent University.
Graham is an experienced forestry professional, responsible for all operational aspects of the Gresham House forestry funds. After a short period of practical experience in the UK, Sweden and New Zealand, he joined UA Forestry Ltd (a division of United Auctions Group) as a forest manager, progressing to become their managing director in 1997.
In 2001, he left UA to found his own forestry management company, Aspen Forestry Ltd, which specialised in providing forest management services across Scotland. Following the successful sale of Aspen, Graham joined Gresham House in 2007. His specialism is in developing, negotiating and managing non-forestry ‘higher and better use’ investments on behalf of client funds, particularly renewable energy developments, telecom rentals, power line access and compensation and residential developments.
Chris joined Gresham House in August 2023 and is responsible for all aspects of property and asset management for the Group’s UK Housing portfolio.
Most recently Head of Real Estate Strategy and Chief Investment Officer at LifeX Aps, a modern residential operator and technology platform, he was formerly Managing Director and Head of UK at Oxford Properties Group from 2011 to 2019, leading a team responsible for £3 billion of UK assets.
Chris has over 30 years of experience in the real estate industry.
Fernando joined Gresham House in May 2021 and is focused on the design, development and deployment of processes and procedures that allow the New Energy team to increase MW under management each year.
Fernando has 15 years’ experience in the Renewable Energy sector, specifically in the Solar PV industry. Prior to Gresham House, he was Global Head of Technical for a 2.2GW Solar PV portfolio at WiseEnergy (Next Energy Group company), focused on the operation of their Solar PV assets and increasing overall revenues.
Fernando holds a BEng in Industrial Engineering from the University of Castilla-La Mancha and an MSc in Energy and Sustainability with Electrical Power Engineering from the University of Southampton. He also holds a Global Executive MBA from IESE Business School, Barcelona.
Mathangi joined Gresham House as an Investment Associate in our Sustainable Infrastructure team in January 2023.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Mathangi worked at an impact venture capital fund in India as an investment fellow where she was responsible for setting up the fund along with building the fund’s investment thesis and deal pipeline. Prior to that she was part of EY India’s Financial Due Diligence team.
Mathangi has seven years of work experience in the industry and is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. She also holds an MBA from HEC Paris with a specialisation in Finance.
Gourav is a Director in the Capital Markets team at Gresham House, following the acquisition of TradeRisks in March 2020, and is a member of the Housing and Infrastructure team. Since joining TradeRisks, he has been responsible for executing on advisory engagements for both housing associations and infrastructure clients.
He previously worked at Arcus Infrastructure Partners in their core infrastructure investments team, where he was responsible for reviewing and executing on new investment opportunities. Prior to this, Gourav worked at PIMCO in the financial advisory team where he was responsible for assessing the credit quality of infrastructure loan books. He also spent a number of years working in the infrastructure advisory team of EY in the UK and Australia. Gourav’s recent work experience includes advising a fibre network developer on funding their projects.
Gourav has over 15 years of professional experience in financial advisory and investment. He holds a Master of Commerce degree from Macquarie University and qualified as an Actuary with the Institute of Actuaries of Australia.
Dominik joined Gresham House in 2022 and is responsible for housing regulatory and performance reporting for all the Registered Providers within the division. He has over 16 years of experience working in the real estate, public and charity sector.
Prior to joining Gresham Housing, Dominik was part of the founding team at Sage Housing – Blackstone portfolio company and a major for-profit housing provider in England where he was responsible for leading their Corporate Compliance function and managing operational reporting for the business. Before that, Dominik worked for one of the largest London’s housing associations – One Housing Group where he was responsible for overseeing performance of their retirement and supported housing portfolio.
Dominik is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
Natalie joined Gresham House in December 2022 as Finance Manager within the Real Assets team.
Natalie is an ACCA Chartered Accountant with eight years’ experience, five years post qualified. Natalie’s background comprises of a range of experience across many industries including manufacturing, construction, logistics and travel.
Natalie has gained most of her experience working within International SME’s, streamlining and developing processes and reporting. She also has experience working in FMCG and Blue Chip companies.
Natalie graduated with a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from Oxford Brookes University in 2013.
Florence joined Gresham House in August 2023.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Florence worked as a Recruitment Consultant within the Energy sector, placing candidates who worked offshore.
Florence holds a BA (Hons) in Criminology from the University of Brighton.
Claire joined Gresham House in November 2023 as Director of Shared Ownership Operations.
Claire has worked in affordable homeownership for 14 years, mainly in G15 housing associations, with specialisms including shared ownership and section 106 developments.
She has a wealth of experience in managing large, shared ownership, and leasehold portfolios, with a particular focus on new builds, third-party management contracts, complaints, and service changes. Claire is well versed in Landlord and Tenant Law, Case Law and the RICS service charge code.
Claire holds a BA in English Literature, is a member of the Property Institute, and is an Associate Member of RICS working towards her APC.
Chris joined Gresham House in August 2023.
Chris has over 20 years’ experience in private equity, corporate finance & restructuring, strategic business planning, M&A, performance improvement, and is an experienced non-executive director.
Before joining Gresham House, Chris spent seven years as a Portfolio Director at Lloyds Development Capital where he worked with around 30 businesses across a broad range of sectors including IT services and unified communications, business services, educational support services, construction, manufacturing, logistics and financial services to deliver numerous successful acquisitions and exits.
Prior to his career in private equity, Chris spent 15 years at Deloitte LLP as an advisor to UK mid-market board teams, shareholders, private equity investors and lenders. During this time, Chris also undertook a secondment at a major UK high street lender, gaining first-hand experience of credit and internal banking procedures, debt and security structures.
Chris is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) and holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham.
Pat joined the Board in September 2017.
He currently holds a variety of advisory and Board level roles at commercial, charitable and European bodies, including the Institute for International and European Affairs, Gore Street Energy Storage Fund Plc, Ecocem Ireland, European Investment Bank and Supernode Ltd. Ireland.
He is a former Irish politician and television current affairs presenter. He was President of the European Parliament from 2002 to 2004 and served as a member of the European Parliament from 1989 to 2004. Prior to this he was a journalist and presenter with RTÉ’s Today Tonight and then a Teachta Dála (TD) for Cork South–Central.
Rebecca joined Gresham House in July 2020 in the newly created role of Director, Sustainable Investment.
Previously, Rebecca worked as an ESG Strategist at Univest where she was responsible for setting a leading sustainability framework across Univest’s investment approach, as well as setting their sustainability objectives for the next five years. Prior to this, she worked at Hymans Robertson as an Investment Consultant and Responsible Investment (RI) adviser where she designed and developed their client RI proposition whilst working closely with a range of clients to enhance their approaches to RI and ESG.
Rebecca was shortlisted for the Professional Pensions 2019 Rising Star Adviser of the Year award for her work in sustainable investment and has raised awareness of sustainable investing by regularly speaking at industry events and writing a number of thought leadership pieces on this topic.
Rebecca holds a BSc in Mathematics with Economics from the University of Exeter, is a qualified actuary and has completed the Investment Management Certificate.
Wayne is an Investment Director in our New Energy division and has 29 years of technical, commercial, stakeholder and general management experience in the energy sector.
Before joining Gresham House, Wayne served as COO at FIM Services Ltd, and prior to that Wayne was an Onshore Wind Development and Construction Director for RWE Innogy.
He has overseen the construction of 17 wind farms (~400MW) and the sale of 12 wind farms (~200MW) over the past 12 years. He has also represented the industry on aviation matters as a director and vice chair of the Aviation Investment Fund Company Ltd.
Wayne is a Chartered Engineer and has a PhD in Engineering from the University of Sheffield. Wayne is also a registered adviser with the Financial Conduct Authority.
Claire joined Gresham House in February 2023 as Financial Controller.
Claire has over 20+ years’ experience in accountancy and finance within the financial services, asset management and investment management industries.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Claire was the Group Financial Controller for Amber Infrastructure Group.
Claire is ACCA qualified.
Richard is a Chartered Surveyor whose experience covers all property issues. His expertise includes: complex documentation and due diligence matters, developing and implementing investment schemes – particularly those based on tax-efficient structures – and managing a wide range of investor contacts established through FIM’s investment business. Richard is a registered adviser with the Financial Conduct Authority.
Anthony’s background is in investment banking, having previously worked for international firms in London, New York and South America, including Macquarie and Merrill Lynch. At Gresham House, he is responsible for business development, marketing and sales for our forestry and new energy assets, also managing one of the funds.
Anthony has a BA (Hons) in History from Newcastle University and is an Investment Management Certificate holder. He is also a registered adviser with the Financial Conduct Authority.
Tony has been Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gresham House plc since December 2014. He chairs the Investment Committees of Gresham House plc and Strategic Equity Capital plc and is a Non-Executive Director for Gresham House Asset Management Ireland Limited.
Tony led the management buy-in and established a new management team that transformed the firm from an investment trust into the listed specialist asset manager it is today.
Tony has a long track record of investing and advising numerous public and private equity businesses. From 2002 to 2011, he established and grew SVG Investment Managers before being asked to lead SVG Advisors (formerly Schroder Ventures, London) as CEO. He started his career at Phillips & Drew Fund Management (later UBS Global Asset Management), one of the UK’s most prominent value investment firms with £60bn in assets under management at its peak and where he was a member of the Investment Committee. He was also previously Chair of the LPFA Investment Panel and Non-executive Board member.
Tony has over 25 years of investment experience and holds an MA in Management Studies from the University of Cambridge (where he was also a junior rugby international and Blue).
Lisa joined Gresham House as a Director of Finance in October 2022 and has over 16 years’ experience in financial services, working across multiple disciplines including Corporate Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Mergers & Acquisitions.
Most recently, Lisa was a Director at BNP Paribas Real Estate for four years and was responsible for the management of the finance team in the UK.
Lisa also spent some time at the Ardonagh Group, where she helped establish a Group FP&A function during their acquisitions and growth phase. She also worked on the IPO of Old Mutual Wealth.
Prior to this, Lisa spent six years at the Royal Bank of Scotland as the Vice President of the Deal Execution team (in-house M&A team) within the Capital Resolution Group and International Banking, where she was involved with some of their largest strategic transactions.
Lisa started her career at KPMG Australia where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ICAA). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from UNSW and a Master’s degree in Business and Commerce from the University of Sydney.
Lizzie is Group Marketing Director at Gresham House. She held the title of Marketing Director since April 2018, having previously held the role within the Gresham House New Energy division (formerly Hazel Capital) having joined the business in 2011. She oversees all marketing and reporting activity across the Group to communicate effectively with shareholders, investors and clients, to raise brand awareness and to set and maintain high standards for the quality of marketing materials and messaging.
Whilst at Hazel Capital, Lizzie managed all aspects of the firm’s product offering, which includes VCTs, EIS investments and direct private placements into a portfolio of renewable energy project companies. Lizzie worked at Matrix Group between 2008-2011 in marketing and later UK and global sales within their funds team. Between 2003 and 2008, Lizzie was a member of the British Sailing Team and was runner-up in the trials for the Beijing 2008 Olympics. She competed in the Laser Radial class, which is the women’s single-handed discipline. Lizzie holds a BA (Hons) in Classics from the University of Oxford, as well as the IMC.
Beth is a Financial Controller, Real Assets, who looks after a number of our Forestry and Renewables clients.
Emily joined Gresham House in 2019 as a Team Personal Assistant, responsible for assisting the Operations, HR, Marketing, Legal, Distribution and Sustainable Investment teams, before moving into the HR team as HR Executive in 2022. Emily provides generalist HR support across the group.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Emily spent five years in Hong Kong working in marketing, customer service and lifestyle management roles at Quintessentially and Bloom & Grow.
Emily holds a BA (Hons) in Events Management from Leeds Beckett University.
Leigh joined Gresham House Ireland as Head of Compliance in August 2022.
Prior to joining Gresham House Ireland he was Head of Compliance for Kestrel Capital Limited. He has also held the role of Head of Compliance, Chief Risk Officer and MLRO for both Sanford C. Bernstein Ireland Limited and New England Asset Management Limited in Ireland. He spent 4 years in Dubai where he worked with Bank of America Merrill Lynch as Head of Compliance for the Middle East and North Africa. Prior to this, he had been Compliance Director with Merrill Lynch in Dublin.
Leigh obtained a BComm from University College Dublin and an MSc in Finance from the University of Strathclyde. He is also a member of the Compliance Institute in Ireland.
Brent Donaldson joined Gresham House as a Forestry Consultant in August 2022, and comes on board with a focus on our international investments in Australia and New Zealand. He has extensive experience in all aspects of forestry operational activities including silviculture, distribution, planning, harvesting and wild fire management. Brent’s career has been spent working in New Zealand, and the states of Tasmania, South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia.
He was one of the founding members of the Central North Island Wood Council in New Zealand, and managed the Generation Programme in the Central North Island, the purpose of which is to introduce a range of employment opportunities in the forest industry through a ‘real world’ learning experience combining training and employment, with particular focus on NEETs. Brent was central to getting the programme up and running and getting local contractors on board and to engage Generation Programme graduates, after their initial induction, into the forestry sector.
Brent holds a Bachelor’s degree in Forest Science from the University of Canterbury (NZ) and is a voting member of the NZ Institute of Forestry.
Kenneth joined Gresham House Ireland in March 2023.
Prior to Gresham House, Kenneth spent two years with Bank of Ireland in a Welcome and Operations role dealing with commercial and personal customers.
Kenneth graduated from the University of Galway with a Bachelor of Commerce and is studying for his Qualified Financial Advisor exams.
Katie joined Gresham House in August 2023.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Katie completed a Corporate Finance Graduate Programme with the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA), which involved three eight-month rotations in Irelands Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF), NewERA and the National Development Finance Agency (NDFA).
Katie holds a MEconSc in International Finance and completed a six-month study abroad at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Keisha-Ann joined Gresham House in November 2020 as part of the Institutional Sales team and is responsible for institutional business development and consultant relations, fundraising across Gresham House’s Real Assets strategies.
Prior to Gresham House, she spent five years at quantitative investment manager, Winton, where she was responsible for investor relations coverage of investment consultants and Winton’s global institutional and wholesale clients including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, investment banks, family offices and endowments.
Keisha-Ann holds a BA (Hons) in Geography from the University of Leeds.
Chris is Head of Wholesale Distribution and joined Gresham House in July 2021.
Prior to this he was Head of Strategic Partnerships at LGBR Capital where he focused on developing key strategic relationships in the UK discretionary market. He was one of the founding members of LGBR Capital, helping to grow the business from launch in 2012 into one of the largest outsourced distributors in the UK.
Chris previously held business development and client relationship positions at Matrix Asset Management and Goldman Sachs.
Chris has 14 years’ industry experience and holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics from Queen Mary, University of London. He is a CAIA Charterholder and has passed both the Certificate in ESG Investing and the Investment Management Certificate from the CFA Society of the UK.
Jessica joined Gresham House in November 2018 having previously been at Livingbridge for five years. Based in the London office she works as the Operations Manager. Jessica is a qualified management accountant and holds a BA (Hons) in Business Management from the University of Lincoln.
Steven has 12 years’ experience in the real estate sector and specialises in large scale office management and retail shopping centres.
Before joining Gresham House Ireland Real Estate he worked in CBRE from 2006 to 2015 and was responsible for the office property management team, managing many high profile instructions including Central Park Sandyford.
Steven is a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) and a has an honours degree in Property Economics & Estate Management from the University of Reading, UK.
Juanita joined the Strategic Equity team in August 2022 and is responsible for supporting on all Company Secretarial matters relating to the four Mobeus VCTs.
Juanita has previously held Company Secretarial roles at Tate & Lyle PLC and Link Group (Company Matters).
Juanita is a Graduate member of the Chartered Governance Institute and holds an MSc in Corporate Governance from London South Bank University.
Sarah joined Gresham House in January 2023 as an Asset Manager in our New Energy team.
Sarah has over seven years of experience in the Renewable Energy industry, focused to date on Solar PV.
In her previous role, Sarah spent five years as a Senior Technical Manager assisting in the asset management for a 523MW solar portfolio. As part of her role she was responsible for overseeing the day to day performance of the assets, alongside developing projects focused on asset optimisation.
Sarah holds a BSc in Geological Sciences from the University of Leeds and an MSc in Environmental Strategy from the University of Surrey.
Benjamin joined Gresham House in August 2022 and works within Gresham House Ventures.
Prior to this he was Head of Portfolio at Bootstrap Europe, a pan-European growth capital fund focused on making and managing investments in early-stage technology companies.
Benjamin started his career within EY’s Private Equity Transaction Advisory team, including a secondment to support Mayfair Equity Partners.
Benjamin holds a first-class degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Southampton and is a Chartered Accountant.
Tara is a Commercial Property Asset Manager for the Real Estate team in Ireland and has over 16 years of property management experience.
Tara joined Gresham House from CBRE where she was a Director responsible for leading a team to deliver property management services for the UK’s leading commercial funds. Prior to joining CBRE, Tara was Director at Group Workman LLP.
Tara qualified as a Chartered Member of The Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) and of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in 2014.
She also holds a 1st Class Honors Bachelor’s degree in Property Studies.
Heather is Managing Director, Institutional Business and a member of the GHAM Board.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Heather spent seven years at Fidelity International, latterly as Head of Institutional Distribution for UK & Ireland. She also previously held business development and client relationship positions at BankInvest, Capital International and Gartmore where she focussed on U.K & Ireland and Nordic institutional investors.
Heather has over 25 years of financial experience and holds a BA (Hons) in Politics from Durham University and the Investment Management Certificate from the CFA Society of the UK.
Joe joined Gresham House in March 2023 and is a Paralegal in our legal team.
Prior to Gresham House, Joe worked as a legal consultant at a high street law firm and a venture capital firm.
Ben Fry is Managing Director, Housing at Gresham House. He is the Fund Manager for Residential Secure Income plc and Gresham House Residential Secure Income LP and Managing Director of the two Registered Providers of Social Housing within these funds, ReSI Homes Limited and ReSI Housing Limited.
Ben has worked at Gresham House for 12 years, including via TradeRisks which was acquired by Gresham House in March 2020. Prior to setting up Residential Secure Income in 2017, Ben led TradeRisks’ debt advisory services for housing associations, local authorities, and specialist residential accommodation.
Ben has 18 years of experience in housing, local government and infrastructure and qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte. He holds a BSc in Mathematics from Imperial College London.
David Gardner has been CIO, Forestry and a member of the Forestry Investment Committee at Gresham House since May 2020.
He joined from Global Forest Partners LP, a US based timber management and investment company, where he worked from 2009 to 2019. David was responsible for developing the company’s international growth as well as supporting the management of the existing forestry investments. While at Global Forest Partners, David served as an Investment Director as well as being a partner and serving on the Investment Committee. Prior to that, he was President of Asia Pacific (Forest Industry) at the international management consulting firm Poyry, based in Singapore.
David has over 30 years of experience in the global forest industry, with the last ten years focused on international institutional investment and asset management in forestry.
David holds a Bachelor of Science, a Master’s degree in Forestry and is an MBA graduate from Cranfield University.
Paul is a Health and Safety Manager in the New Energy team at Gresham House. Since joining in April 2022, he has been responsible for managing the delivery of strategies, plans and improvement programmes for building risk management capabilities, systems, processes, competences, and culture to support the management and assurance of health and safety risks and opportunities.
He previously worked at HS2 Ltd in their infrastructure integrated project team, where he was responsible for supporting with the delivery of assurance across the HS2 programme, with multiple stakeholders. Prior to this, Paul worked at Network Rail Ltd in the Business Services and Support Functions team where he was responsible for managing the health and safety requirements of the management system framework, to establish a consistent approach that evolved, was integrated into core processes and activities and delivered improvements in capabilities and performance.
Paul has ten years professional experience in health and safety risk management in the construction sector.
He has a first-class honours degree in Occupational Health and Safety Management from Middlesex University and an MSc. in Transport Planning and Management from the University of Westminster.
He is a qualified ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems Lead Auditor and a member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.
Andy has over 20 years’ industry experience and joined Gresham House in October 2019 after spending two years at BNP Paribas. Prior to this he spent six years as investment sales director at BNY Mellon, focusing on family offices and the London discretionary market.
He has also worked in the business development team at Skandia Investment Management, helping launch the Spectrum range of funds. He holds a BA (Hons) in Economics, the CFA Certificate in Investment Management, the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing, the CII Certificate In Discretionary Investment Management, the CII Certificate in Investment Operations and the CII Diploma in Financial Planning.
Matthew Giles has been an Investment Director and the Head of the Forestry Asset Management Team at Gresham House since November 2015 following the successful acquisition of Aitchesse by Gresham House. The team oversees the management of Gresham House clients’ forestry investments where he has the primary responsibility of managing two major portfolios in both the UK and Ireland and leading the ESG initiatives for forestry. Prior to joining Gresham House, Matthew was a Senior Forest Manager for 12 years covering all aspects of forest management across the UK for family offices and high net worth individuals. His previous experience includes the responsibility for FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) audits on all the forest areas. He has over 20 years’ experience in forestry and qualified as a Professional Member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters (MICFor) in 2004. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Forestry from Newton Rigg, graduating in 2000.
Claire joined Gresham House in August 2023 as Head of Business Development in the UK and Irish Institutional market.
Prior to Gresham House, Claire worked at Schroders for ten years and held positions as Head of Sustainability UK and Co-Head of the UK Institutional Business.
Claire started her career at M&G Investments, before moving to Baring Asset Management where she spent 11 years with the last six years in a UK Institutional Business Development role.
Claire is IMC qualified and has obtained the CFA ESG certificate.
Dylan joined Gresham House in July 2022.
Dylan has worked in the finance sector for over two years and was previously an Operations Assistant at Wyelands Bank.
Dylan holds a Professional Bankers certificate for banking in a digital age.
Matt is a chartered surveyor with over 13 years’ experience in investment management. He is responsible for the asset management of Gresham House’s forestry portfolio and for family office and high net worth individuals’ forestry and renewable portfolios worth over £571m. Matt is also responsible for the valuation and acquisition of investment opportunities.
Prior to Gresham House and FIM, Matt worked for Smiths Gore as a rural estate manager, advising a number of private clients on the management of their diverse property portfolios. Before this, he worked for Jones Lang LaSalle in their financial services team advising on the formation of joint venture property development companies. Matt holds the Certificate in Investments and is a registered adviser with the Financial Conduct Authority.
Grace joined Gresham House as Junior Marketing Associate in October 2023.
Prior to Gresham House, Grace worked in recruitment marketing for two years alongside completing her Marketing Degree at the University of Kent.
Grace holds a BA (Hons) in Marketing including a year in industry.
Ben has been Managing Director and Head of the Gresham House New Energy division since November 2017.
He is the Fund Manager of Gresham House Energy Storage Fund plc, with assets under management (AUM) of over £500mn, and was, through 2020, also Fund Manager for the British Strategic Investment Fund (BSIF) strategy which grew AUM to £350mn under his leadership.
Ben started his fund management career at Lazard Asset Management in 1994 and worked there for nine years. He later founded Hazel Capital in April 2007, serving as Managing Partner and CIO and which became Gresham House New Energy on the acquisition of Hazel Capital’s business activities in November 2017.
Prior to founding Hazel Capital, he was a co-founder of Cantillon Capital, where he managed a US$1bn equity hedge fund focused on global technology, media and telecom.
Ben currently serves as a director of over 50, mostly project, companies.
He has 27 years of investment experience and holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College.
Brendan joined Gresham House in November 2018 having previously been at Livingbridge.
Brendan co-manages the LF Gresham House UK Micro Cap Fund and the LF Gresham House UK Multi Cap Income Fund and leads Gresham House’s Healthcare sector investment strategy.
Prior to Livingbridge Brendan spent four and a half years in technology investment banking at Canaccord Genuity having studied commerce with a focus on finance at Melbourne University.
Andy is responsible for operational and technology initiatives across Gresham House. Andy has a strong technology, operations and business background, having previously worked for LDC and the wholesale division of Lloyds Banking Group, where he led numerous operational improvement and technology programmes.
Throughout his career Andy has advised companies on identifying value creation opportunities to support growth that can be driven through operational improvement and technology, as well as supporting complex post-merger integrations. Andy holds an MBA from the University of Warwick.
Kathryn joined Gresham House Ireland in March 2022 to spearhead our offering for private clients. She has worked as an investment manager with private clients for over 15 years, aligning their investment strategies with their personal goals, across various wealth structures. She has over 20 years’ experience in the wealth management sector, having advised individuals and their families, not-for-profits, corporates and pension clients in this time.
Kathryn graduated with a degree in Corporate Law and interned at MetLife Bank in New York prior to commencing her career at a large wealth management business in Dublin. She is a Chartered Member of the Securities & Investment Institute in London and holds the CFP® designation. She also holds a first-class MSc in Financial Services, and has served as a Professional Pension Trustee Practitioner. Demonstrating her commitment to sustainable investing, Kathryn recently completed the ESG Certificate via the CFA.
Jacky joined Gresham House in September 2022 as a Finance Manager in our Real Assets team.
Jacky is a qualified CIMA accountant with experience across a broad range of industries including Private Households, Hospitality and Leasehold Property Management.
Mark is Marketing Director, having joined Gresham House in July 2020 as Interim Marketing Director with responsibility for marketing and reporting activity across the Group, with a particular focus on increasing brand awareness and driving the quality of marketing materials and messaging.
Before joining Gresham House, Mark was Head of Marketing at Miton for over eight years where he led the marketing activity and raised the profile of the brand through a time of growth.
Mark has over 25 years’ marketing experience having previously held roles at Gartmore, Invesco Perpetual and Lloyds TSB.
Mark holds a BA (Hons) in History & Politics from the University of the West of England and an MA in Public Relations from Manchester Metropolitan University.
Carole oversees Gresham House’s renewable assets portfolio and acts as Fund Manager for one of the wind funds.
Carole joined Gresham House as part of the FIM Services Ltd integration, and has been involved in the origination, financing, construction and management of all of the previously FIM-branded renewable assets.
Prior to joining FIM, Carole worked across several sectors including technology, software and travel as a Finance and Operations Director following qualification as a Chartered Management Accountant.
Dylan joined Gresham House in March 2023.
Prior to Gresham House, Dylan worked as a Data Analyst for a construction company.
Dylan holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics from the University of Greenwich.
Tania joined Gresham House in November 2018 having been at Livingbridge for 13 years. She has worked on the Baronsmead VCTs since she joined, progressing from administration assistant to Finance Manager in 2011 and qualifying as a Chartered Management Accountant in 2012 while at Livingbridge.
Tania previously worked at a Chartered Accountancy practice in New Zealand for eight years where she began her accounting training. She holds a BBS in Accounting from the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand.
Derek joined the Fund Management industry in 2008. Previously, he worked as a Senior Equity Portfolio Manager within the Treasury Asset Management division of the IKEA Group. Prior to this he held the position of Portfolio Manager with AGF, a Canadian mutual fund company.
Derek has considerable experience in managing Global Equity Portfolios and has spent time working overseas in Singapore. He holds an MBS (Corporate Finance and Accounting) from University College Cork, a BBS (Economics and Finance) from the University of Limerick and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
James joined Gresham House in December 2019 and works as part of our growth equity division, Gresham House Ventures.
Prior to this he spent five years at PwC, latterly working in the financial due diligence team.
James is a Chartered Accountant and read Economics and Accounting at Edinburgh University.
Bob joined the original Mobeus VCTs team in 1998 and was one of the Partners who set up Mobeus when they completed a management buyout from the Matrix Group in 2012. Bob is focused on new deal generation but also looks after a number of portfolio companies, specialising in construction, food manufacturing and sports.
Bob was previously at HSBC where he was Head of HSBC Ventures and prior to that spent time at County Bank.
He holds a BA (Hons) in Business Studies from London Guildhall University.
Cassie joined the Public Equity team in July 2021.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Cassie was part of the Corporate Broking team at Citi, having previously spent two and a half years at Investec.
Cassie graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2015, before completing an MSc at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Katie works within the Oxford Administration team, predominantly assisting the Forestry team.
She joined in January 2020 having previously worked as an Administration Assistant at an Estate Agents.
Katie holds a BSc (Hons) in Rural Land Management from the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester.
Trevor joined Gresham House in 2021 as part of the Mobeus VCTs acquisition. For over 20 years, he has invested in fast-growing businesses at the series A stage and beyond.
Prior roles include at Barclays, RBS, 3i and Beringea. Previous investments and Board positions include Paragon Software, Mondus.com, Cambridge Industries, Southnews plc, Achilles Group, MyOptique, Fjordnet, ILG Digital, Celebrus Technologies, Big Data Partnership, and Preservica.
Trevor holds an MBA from Exeter University, is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Becky joined Gresham House in October 2022 as a Finance Manager.
Becky has over seven years of finance experience. After graduating from University, she joined a top 50 accountancy firm where she worked with a wide range of different businesses.
Becky gained her ACA Chartered Accountancy qualification in 2018 and holds a BSc (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from Cardiff University.
Olly Hughes has been Managing Director and an Investment Committee member of our Forestry division since January 2019. He is responsible for managing the growth and development of Gresham House’s forestry activities including acquisitions, fund and private client management and forestry asset management.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Olly was a Partner and Head of Infrastructure at Oxford Capital for six years where he built and managed a portfolio of over £300mn of solar and wind renewable energy assets. He started his career at ING Barings in 1995 focusing on asset backed structuring and since then has focused his career on real asset investment management.
Olly has over 26 years of investment experience and holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master’s degree from the University of Oxford in Biological Science. He also obtained the Investment Management Certificate from the CFA Society in the UK.
Harry joined Gresham House in April 2023.
Prior to joining Gresham House Harry worked as an Auditor at Grant Thornton for three years focussing primarily on technology and media businesses.
Harry holds a first-class Master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Oxford and qualified as a chartered accountant in September 2022.
Luke joined Gresham House in November 2021 and is an Investment Manager in the Forestry division.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Luke spent several years valuating assets and building valuation templates across the financial services industry. This includes within asset management, private equity, venture capital and forex brokerage.
Luke holds an MSc in Statistics and another MSc in Economics from the University of Nottingham and is a level 3 candidate for the CFA programme.
Sarah was appointed as a Non-Executive Director and Audit Committee Chair of the Company following the conclusion of the Company’s 2022 AGM. Sarah is a qualified chartered accountant and brings to the Board over 30 years’ experience in financial services including audit, corporate finance, investment banking and asset management.
During her executive career, she was a top-rated equity research analyst covering the UK general financial services sector and also founded and ran a hedge fund investment management business. Sarah is Non-Executive Director at CMC Markets plc, Marex Group plc and XPS Pensions Group plc.
Stevie joined Gresham House in January 2018 and works on both public and private transactions across the full range of funds, spending the majority of time working on the British Strategic Investment Fund in the Sustainable Infrastructure team.
Prior to Gresham House, Stevie worked for Lloyds Banking Group in their Leveraged Finance Team, following the completion of the graduate scheme where she gained exposure to a wide range of Capital Market products.
Stevie holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from Durham University and has passed CFA Level II.
David joined Gresham House in June 2023 as an RFP Analyst within our Institutional Distribution team. He is responsible for ensuring the consistency and quality of the firm’s investment proposal content and processes as well as contributing to the production of marketing materials.
David has over 15 years of experience within financial services distribution, having worked with a number of global fund management firms as an investment and RFP writer and business manager.
He holds an MA (Hons) in Modern Languages from the University of St Andrews and the Investment Management Certificate.
Francis joined the Forestry division of Gresham House in February 2021.
Francis obtained a 1st class degree from the University of Manchester reading International Business, Finance & Economics. Following this he completed a Master’s in Finance, also at the University of Manchester, for which he was awarded a Distinction and the Alliance Manchester Business School Academic Scholarship.
Kevin joined the team in Ireland in June 2023.
Kevin has over 14 years of experience in the property industry and was previously Financial Controller at McDermott and O’Farrell Group.
Kevin holds a Business degree from the University of Limerick and completed his ACCA exams in 2012.
Chloe joined Gresham House in July 2019, having spent over three years in infrastructure operations at Oxford Capital. Prior to Oxford Capital, she was Acquisitions Manager at Inazin and a Project Officer at TRW, a ZF Group company. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Zoology from the University of Nottingham and an MBA from RAC, Cirencester.
William joined Gresham House in January 2022 as Senior Investment Manager, Forestry.
Prior to Gresham House, William worked at Tilhill, advising clients on commercial forestry and woodland investments, new woodland creation, woodland carbon investment, and portfolio modelling for individual and institutional investors.
Before this, he spent five years at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, managing low-risk European equity portfolios, including launching and co-managing a sustainable equity fund. He has also worked at KPMG Corporate Finance, focusing on long-term project finance investments. He spent his early career as an infantry officer in the British Army.
William holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Oxford, a Master’s degree in Environmental and Forest Management from the University of Aberdeen, and is a CFA Charterholder. He also has a year of postgraduate research experience at Newcastle University, focused on tropical forest carbon cycling, ecosystem functioning and biodiversity relationships.
Miranda joined Gresham House in May 2023.
Miranda previously spent 7-weeks in the Forestry team as an intern in the summer of 2022.
Miranda holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of St Andrews.
Tim has managed the financial and management reporting for the four Mobeus VCTs for over a decade.
Prior to joining Mobeus, he was an Assistant Manager at Nyman Libson Paul.
Tim is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) and holds an MSc in Economics from the University of Bristol and a BA (Hons) in Economics and Management from the University of Lincoln.
Matt joined Gresham House Ventures in 2021. His key responsibilities include sourcing new investment opportunities and assisting the deal team with transactions. He specialises in Technology, FMCG and manufacturing.
Matt’s previous roles include at HMT, Audit and Transaction Support as an ICAEW trainee and in Strategy and Transactions at EY.
He is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) and holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from Newcastle University.
Ioannis joined Gresham House in April 2023.
loannis is accountable for overseeing the management and delivery of the New Energy team’s project pipeline, comprising the BESS Projects (Battery Energy Storage Systems).
With a strong background in the renewable energy sector, Ioannis has worked on various aspects such as O&M and EPC of PV Solar Power Plant projects around the UK and Ireland since 2017.
He holds an MSc in Applied Acoustics from Southampton Solent University, with an area of expertise in Renewable Energy Sources.
Co-Founder and Property Director. He previously worked at Treasury Holdings from 2005 to 2012 as Director of Property where he was responsible for the Asset and Development Management functions and managed a number of large mixed use property portfolios.
Niall has also worked on many high profile retail and office assets prior to joining Treasury Holdings including Dundrum Town Centre (1999 – 2005). Niall has also worked on a number of development projects in Sweden and Russia. He is a chartered member of the Institution of Engineers of Ireland and has a degree in Engineering from Trinity College, Dublin.
Sarah joined Gresham House in September 2022 as a Finance Assistant in the Finance, Real Assets department.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Sarah worked in the charity sector, working as a Finance Manager for multiple companies, managing all aspects of financial reports and reporting to the Directors and Trustees. Prior to this Sarah worked in retail and gained experience within the companies finance department, managing international expenditure.
Sarah has four years experience in the finance sector and has achieved AAT levels 2,3 & 4. Sarah is currently studying for her ACCA.
Jacqueline is an accountant with over 20 years of experience across accounting, treasury, budgeting, management and administration. Having worked at FIM for 10 years prior to their acquisition, she is responsible for financial reporting, managing year-end audit processes, various tax and VAT matters for the division and also a number of High Net Worth Individuals.
She provides support to the Divisional Financial Director, producing accurate and timely financial information to assist in the smooth running of the Group and its Clients. Before working in financial services, Jacqueline spent a number of years working for an ATM deployment firm, dealing with daily transactions in excess of £1m at the Bank of England.
Samee has been the Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary of Gresham House plc effectively since April 2019. Samee is responsible for all Gresham House Group legal matters. He has over 25 years of legal, commercial and financial experience, covering private and public equity, M&A and corporate finance. Samee joined Gresham House from the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), where he built and led ADIA’s Private Equity legal and compliance function.
Prior to ADIA, Samee worked at SVG Capital plc alongside Tony Dalwood, where he was heavily involved in the structuring and development of private and public equity solutions and was also a member of the firm’s fund management risk committee. Samee holds a first-class degree in Law and qualified as a solicitor with Slaughter and May in London.
Joe joined the Mobeus VCT team in 2021. He originates and leads growth capital investments in technology-led businesses. Joe has over 20 years’ experience helping to build, transform, and grow companies across North America and Europe. He is passionate about partnering with ambitious entrepreneurs to scale their businesses and deepen their impact, focusing on software, data & analytics, tech-enabled services, and online market places.
Joe joined Mobeus from Frog Capital, where he was a Partner, and previously held roles at Jefferies, 3i and EY. He was named one of the Financial News 40-Under-40 Rising Stars in Private Equity in 2015
He holds a BSc and MSc in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and an MBA from London Business School.
Dmytro is a Manager, Capital Markets in the Housing team. He has more than 14 years of extensive finance experience in the energy industry.
He has engaged in power plant developments, constructions, and operations in Europe (the UK, Ukraine, Poland, and Romania) and Africa (Togo, Sierra Leonne). Dmytro’s expertise includes utilities, oil & gas production, and sustainable & renewable energy (hydro, energy-from-waste). Dmytro worked as a project finance specialist with a US-based company – Wheelabrator Technologies, where he also led the business analytics function in the UK. Prior to Wheelabrator, he worked as a Senior Consultant for Risk Advisory at KPMG UK.
Dmytro has an MBA at Said Business School in the University of Oxford. He also holds BA (hons) and MA (hons) in Finance from Kyiv National Economics University after Vadym Hetman.
Geoff joined Gresham House in August 2019, after spending 4 years at Nikko Asset Management. Prior to that he held compliance roles at Henderson Global Investors, Royal London and Barclays Wealth. He began his career in personal banking at HSBC.
Victoria is the Director of Administration responsible for the Gresham House Funds. She is the lead on the development of the Group database and other IT projects. She joined FIM in November 2004.
Abdul joined Gresham House in May 2023.
Abdul previously worked at GAM Investments within their compliance team, specialising in employee compliance, transaction monitoring and surveillance and cost analysis.
Abdul holds a BSc (Hons) in Banking and International Finance from Bayes Business School (formerly CASS), and in 2023 was awarded the CFA UK Level 4 Investment Management Certificate.
Ed is an Investment Director and Head of Fund Management for the Forestry Division at Gresham House, overseeing c.£1bn of equity capital allocated to sustainable investments. Ed manages several funds and is primarily responsible for recommending and implementing fund strategy, portfolio construction and investor reporting. His role also involves the valuation of UK forestry assets and overseeing fund deal flows.
Ed joined Gresham House in May 2018 following the acquisition of FIM Services Ltd. Ed worked at FIM Services Ltd as an Assistant Fund Manager from 2012 and was appointed Fund Manager in 2016.
Ed has 14 years of experience and holds a postgraduate diploma (PG Dip) in Financial Strategy from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and a RICS accredited BA (Hons) in Real Estate from Oxford Brookes University. He is a qualified Chartered Surveyor and a RICS Registered Valuer. He is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority.
Patrick is the Managing Director and Chair of the Investment Committee for the Gresham House Asset Management Ireland Funds.
Patrick founded Gresham House Asset Management Ireland Limited (formerly Appian Asset Management Limited) in 2002 after completing the management buy-out of the private client arm of Aberdeen Asset Management Ireland Limited. He has over 30 years’ investment experience in the fund management, stockbroking and private banking businesses and was Head of Investment for ABN AMRO Bank in Ireland.
He is a qualified Investment Analyst, is a member of the Chartered Financial Analysts Institute and the Society of Investment Professionals in the UK and Ireland. Patrick is also a member and director of the Board of the Irish Association of Investment Managers (IAIM).
Clive joined Gresham House in July 2022 to work on the Housing Funds managed by the Housing division.
Clive has worked in the property funding area for the last 12 years as an FD of Development and Project Management Companies. Prior to this, Clive has acted in advisory roles for management teams and as an investment adviser to the Family Office of a UK peer.
Clive has a BA (Hons) in Accountancy from City University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Clive is also acting Chairman of the St John Priory Group for the Royal County of Berkshire, representing at county level the interests of The Priory of England and the Islands of The Order of St John, the charitable trust that owns and runs St Johns Ambulance.
Alastair joined Gresham House in 2023 and is responsible for growing and maintaining relationships with institutional asset owners and consultants.
Alastair has over 15 years’ experience working with institutional investors. Prior to Gresham House, Alastair worked at Ninety One where he was responsible for business development with UK institutions. Prior to Ninety One, Alastair held business development and client management positions at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, focussing on the UK and Ireland.
Alastair holds a BA in Management Studies from Nottingham University, the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing and is a CFA charter holder.
Anastasia joined Gresham House in August 2022 as a Compliance Manager working alongside the Head of Compliance, and his team. Anastasia has previously worked at the London headquarters of Cheyne Capital Management in a similar compliance generalist role as a Strategic Partner to the firm advising predominantly on Private and Public equity assets, Real Assets as well as their Credit business.
Anastasia achieved a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from the University of Manchester and, in 2019, completed her Level 6 Diploma in Risk and Compliance Management from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments.
Harry joined Gresham House in July 2023.
Whilst studying for his degree, Harry completed a year in industry placement at Gresham House assisting the Housing team across both investment and asset management functions.
Harry holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics from the University of Bath.
Samia joined Gresham House in September 2019 from the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority. She has over 15 years’ experience in asset management and alternative investments. Her role at Gresham House focuses on providing strategic advice on product design and investment solutions, fundraising and launch activities, and fund operations and transactions. She also advises on general corporate and legal matters across the business. Samia is an English qualified lawyer and holds an LLB Honours in English & French Law from the University of East Anglia.
Tom started working at Gresham House in 2018, having previously been at Livingbridge since 2015. Prior to that he was at KPMG for 6 years, working across a number of departments with a focus on private equity transactions. He has a first class BSc (Hons) in Biology from the University of Bristol and is a Chartered Accountant.
Judita joined Gresham House in August 2022 as our Receptionist in the London office.
Judita previously worked as a Corporate Receptionist at St James Facilities Services and as a Hospitality Supervisor at Latham & Watkins. She has more than 10 years’ experience in customer service and passed her apprenticeship in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership.
Kay joined Gresham House in February 2022 and is responsible for assisting the Public Equity team.
Having spent two years working as a team assistant for United Insurance Brokers and almost a decade in the property industry as an Executive Assistant and Office Manager, Kay has a wealth of experience and understanding when it comes to supporting a fast paced, growing company and team.
Kay holds a Higher Diploma in Secretarial and Administrative Procedures along side a creative copy writing for conversions certificate.
John’s primary responsibility is managing our Small Company Fund. John previously worked with Merrion Stockbrokers where he held the position of Senior Equity Analyst. He previously worked for Norwich Union Investment Managers and NCB Stockbrokers. John who holds an MSc in Investment and Treasury from Dublin City University was voted Finance Magazine’s Analyst of the Year in 2007 and 2008. John is a registered representative of the Irish Stock Exchange and an associate member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
Julie is a Senior Administration Manager to the direct acquisitions fund manager, and also deals with the day to day administration of two of the Limited Partnerships.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Julie worked for the credit management arm of the Royal Bank of Scotland. She started at FIM October 2013 and holds a Btech in Business and Finance.
Andy joined Gresham House in June 2022 as a Business Analyst in the Strategic Equity division.
Prior to joining Gresham House, he was with Insight Investment as a Finance Analyst. Andy has five years post qualified experience in various industries.
Andy has a BA in Accountancy from the University of Strathclyde and is CIMA qualified.
Enda joined Gresham House Ireland (formerly Appian Asset Management) in 2019 and is Director of Operations. He is a graduate of the University of Limerick and trained as a Chartered Accountant. He has gained over 20 year’s experience in financial services initially with NCB Stockbrokers and more recently with the Merrion Capital Group where he was Chief Financial Officer for nine years. He is a Registered Stockbroker, Qualified Financial Advisor and is also a member of the Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland holding a Professional Diploma in Compliance.
Adam joined Gresham House in April 2019 as part of the Forestry asset management team. He deals with all aspects of operational management across several forest portfolios and has varied experience across forest management and timber harvesting and marketing.
Adam holds a first-class BA (Hons) in History from the University of Nottingham, and an MSc in Forestry from the University of Aberdeen.
He has worked in commercial forestry in a variety of locations and roles.
Matt joined the Mobeus VCT team in 2019 as a Venture Partner working across their VCT investments. He has over 20 years’ experience in early stage and scale-up technology investing.
Previous roles include Corporate Finance at EY, a Partner in 3i’s technology investment business, and CIO roles at the National Endowment for Science Technology and the Arts (NESTA) and Mercia Technologies plc.
He holds an MBA from the University of Reading and is a Chartered Accountant (ACA).
Koldo joined Gresham House in August 2022 as an O&M Manager in our New Energy division.
Koldo has over 15 years experience in the renewables industry. Prior to joining Gresham House, Koldo worked at Grupotec Renewables Ltd as a Construction Project Manager of a 12Mw plant in Dorset and more recently as an O&M Manager for a 300MW Solar PV plant. Prior to Grupotec, Koldo worked as a Project Manager of Solar PV plants and Solar thermal instillations in Barcelona.
Koldo holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad Publica de Navarra and an MSc in Renewable Energy from Universidad Politecnica de Cataluna, Barcelona.
Jessica is Executive Assistant to the Management team at Gresham House. Jessica joined from the private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group where she previously worked as team personal assistant to the investment team.
Valeria joined Gresham House Ireland as Property Accountant in September 2023.
Previously she spent five years’ working as an Accounts Assistant at Owen Reilly Property Consultants where she worked closely with the lettings and management team, gaining a good understanding of how the rental property market works.
Valeria holds a BA (Hons) in Psychology.
Ruth joined Gresham House on a permanent basis in February 2021, delivering investments in sustainable infrastructure. Prior to this she had supported the team as a consultant from April 2020.
Ruth has 20 years’ infrastructure experience through her first career as a projects lawyer, during which she worked on infrastructure projects both large and small across a range of sectors, including the £3bn Greater Manchester Waste PFI Project. Over the last 10 years, Ruth’s focus has been supporting funders and developers on renewables, waste and social infrastructure projects from inception, through construction, operation and to secondary market disposal.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Ruth spent 15 years at Ashfords LLP where she was a senior partner who founded and was the head of the Projects Team. Ruth’s other leadership roles included acting as the head of the Energy and Waste Sector Team and she spent 3 years as a member of the firm’s management board.
Ruth trained and qualified at Wragge & Co (now Gowling WLR) and holds an LLB (Hons) from Birmingham University.
Jeston joined Gresham House in September 2019, having spent two and a half years as an independent management consultant.
Prior to this, he spent time as COO of Vauban Group and 4 years at Sainsbury’s in profit protection and major store management.
Jeston spent his early career as an officer in the British Army for 16 years and holds a BA (Hons) in Classics from the University of Bristol.
Harpreet joined Gresham House in February 2023 as HR Executive. She is responsible for providing generalist HR support to the company.
Previously, Harpreet gained experience within HR partnering and prior to joining Gresham House, Harpreet worked in various industries including Tech, Insurance and Wholesale.
Harpreet holds a BSc (Hons) in Business with Law and is a fellow qualified CIPD member.
Ian joined Gresham House Ireland (formerly Appian Asset Management) in June 2009 after spending over five years at Bear Stearns. Ian worked within Bear’s Fixed Income/Equity operational departments for two years followed by three years in the Legal & Compliance Department where he worked as an AMLO Officer & Compliance Officer. In June 2009, Ian worked within the Account Opening/Compliance departments before managing the operations department. Ian has built up a strong relationship with our brokers and clients over the past nine years. Ian brings a wealth of experience into our client relationship team having worked in the industry for nearly 14 years. Ian is a Qualified Financial Advisor.
Lizet joined Gresham House in November 2017 as Finance Manager following the acquisition of Hazel Capital. She is responsible for Finance Business Partnering for New Energy and Sustainable Infrastructure.
Lizet has more than 18 years of accounting experience in both internal and external audit. She previously worked for six years in the French office of CNA, the leading European specialist commercial insurer. She began her career with EY, spending four years in the Dutch and Belgian offices. She studied for a BSc in Accounting at Nyenrode University in the Netherlands and holds a BBA in Economics from Avans Hogeschool Breda.
Roslyn joined Gresham House in 2019 and is assistant to the Fund Directors. Roslyn joined from Evercore where she worked as a PA within the Private Funds Group. Prior to Evercore, Roslyn was PA to the Investor Relations team at Europa Capital, a European Real Estate Investment Manager.
April joined Gresham House in August 2022 as Team Personal Assistant to the Operations, HR, Legal, Compliance and Distribution teams.
Prior to Gresham House, April held a number of roles at St James’s Place Wealth Management, as a PA to directors and specialising in recruitment and marketing.
Prior to this, April worked as an EA at Rose Corporate, an Accountancy firm in Australia.
Laura joined Gresham House in November 2021 as a Team Personal Assistant to the Housing team.
She previously worked as a PA at Clarion Solicitors and the private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group.
Laura holds a BA (Hons) in Sociology from the University of Leeds.
Joe joined Gresham House in September 2022 and is an Investment Director in the Forestry team.
His 30-year career spans forestry, manufacturing, energy and technology. With some short spells in the Public Sector, he has spent most of his career in StartUp and Scaling businesses. Having sold a bioenergy business to a multi-disciplinary energy company in 2014 he set up and ran its solar and biomass division. In 2016, he was appointed Chief Commercial Officer for the Group, with responsibility for EBITDA growth across the energy trading, power marketing, asset management and energy solutions businesses as well as developing a pipeline of pre-qualified development opportunities in offshore wind, onshore wind, solar, biomass and energy storage.
Joe holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Science from University College Dublin and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from University College Cork. He recently completed a Diploma in Company Direction as part of the IoD Chartered Directors’ Programme.
He is a Climate Reality Leader with Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project and a Member of the Jury of the European Innovation in Politics Institute. He is an active investor in early-stage Technology companies, particularly in the eMobility, EdTech and FinTech sectors.
He is on the Board of Directors of the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland and also sits on its Audit & Risk Committee.
Jane joined Gresham House in July 2023 to work on the Sustainable Infrastructure team.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Jane worked as an Investment Analyst for the renewable energy fund at Temporis Capital focusing on investing in solar, wind and battery storage assets. Jane has also worked in project finance roles across core infrastructure and real estate finance whilst at Allied Irish Bank in Dublin.
Jane graduated from University College Dublin in 2019 receiving a first class BSc (Hons) in Economics & Finance and has passed CFA Level II.
Beatrice joined Gresham House in November 2022 as a Fund Accountant in our Strategic Equity team.
Beatrice began her career at PwC and has since worked in Fund Administration and Financial Control roles across a number of Securities and Investment Management Companies including, Fidelity Investment Limited, U.K., Barclays Global Investors Limited, U.K., and Aureos Capital. Prior to joining Gresham House, she worked as an Assistant Manager in the Real Estate team at Langham Hall UK Services LLP.
Beatrice is a qualified accountant (FCA) with over 20 years of experience in financial services.
She is an accounting graduate and holds an MBA and an MSc in Global Finance from Bayes Business School (formerly Cass Business School, London).
Alasdair joined Gresham House in July 2021 and is an Investment Manager, Housing.
Prior to joining, Alasdair spent three and a half years in EY’s Audit department, where he worked with a range of FTSE 250 listed clients.
Alasdair is an ACA qualified chartered accountant and holds a first-class honours degree in Physics from the University of Bristol.
Vanessa joined Gresham House in July 2023.
Vanessa previously worked at Secretariat as a forensic accountant, where she was responsible for performing valuation analyses, determining economic assumptions, and quantifying damages. Prior to this, Vanessa worked on high-profile financial crime investigations for FTI Consulting.
Vanessa is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a MMath (Hons) in Mathematics from the University of York.
Gareth has been an Investment Director at Gresham House since November 2017. He joined the company following the acquisition of Hazel Capital where he was a Partner. Gareth is responsible for executing investments, particularly acquisitions, disposals and limited recourse financings of pre-and-post commissioned renewables projects.
Prior to joining Hazel Capital, he worked at Barclays Capital from 2001 to 2009, latterly as a Vice President for Barclays Natural Resource Investments, a c.US$1.5bn captive private equity fund investing in natural resources and renewable energy. Prior to that, he worked in the Structured Capital Markets divisions of Barclays Capital and Deutsche Bank, handling the acquisition and disposal of various asset-based companies.
He started his career in infrastructure project finance at NatWest Markets, advising on and financing a number of Private Finance Initiative (PFI) / Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects.
Gareth has over 20 years of experience and holds an MBA from Imperial College Business School, an MSc in Engineering Project Management and a BEng in Civil Engineering, both from the University of Manchester.
Matthew joined as Director of Development and Delivery in the Housing team in October 2023.
He has 11 years of experience, having previously worked at CA Ventures where he was development lead, capitalising £500mn over numerous projects across Europe and Unite Students.
Zixin joined the Gresham House Ventures team in August 2022.
Prior to this, she spent over 8 years in the Energy industry, working at Royal Dutch Shell. At Shell, Zixin worked across various business lines including Trading, Retail, Renewable Energy Solutions and Shell Ventures.
During her time as a Senior Investment Associate with Shell Ventures, she focused on early-stage equity investments into fast growing start-ups in the Future of Mobility and CleanTech, across Europe, China and India.
Zixin is a qualified CIMA management accountant and holds a Master’s degree in Financial Engineering and Risk Management.
Mandy joined Gresham House in 2018 and manages the day-to-day infrastructure and schedules of the Gresham House New Energy team.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Mandy worked as an Office Manager and Accounting Clerk & Secretary for eight years at an accountancy firm in South Africa.
She has diplomas in both Interior Decorating & Architectural Drawing, Accounting & Finance, as well as Company Secretarial knowledge.
Saliha joined Gresham House in June 2023.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Saliha completed an internship at Grant Thornton in the audit team and also an internship at Barclays.
Saliha holds a BSc in Economics with Accounting from City, University of London and is currently studying towards an ACCA qualification.
Sandeep joined Gresham House in December 2022 and leads the finance function for the Housing strategy, encompassing the full suite of financial reporting and analysis.
Sandeep has over 15 years of senior finance experience spanning financial control, valuations, product control and finance business partnering, to board and executive committee level, playing an active role in the delivery of strategic objectives.
During 10 years on the sell-side, Sandeep led and worked in teams which realised significant income opportunities and cost savings. In five years on the buy-side, Sandeep led a finance team implementing a finance operating model to facilitate the scale of a listed commercial real estate investment trust from IPO to a £1.2 bn market capitalisation.
Sandeep is a Fellow Member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Shalin joined the Gresham House Strategic Equity division as a Portfolio Manager in August 2022.
Shalin has a total of 12 years professional experience in the financial industry.
Before joining Gresham House, Shalin was a Portfolio Manager for four years at BOOST&Co, turning around underperforming SME businesses. Shalin acted as a Non-Executive Director and observer on investments within various industries, namely telecommunications, advertising technology, vehicle finance, smart metering logistics, and lead generation. Prior to that, Shalin was an Equity Analyst at RMB Morgan Stanley.
Shalin has a BCom (Hons) in Accounting Science from the University of South Africa.
Grant joined Gresham House in February 2023 as Director of Investment in the Private Equity team. He has worked in investment since 2005 and brings a wide range of experience, including minority and majority equity stakes across early stage, growth and the mid-market, and across a wide variety of sectors. Previous investments and Board positions include CM2000, Cirrus Response, Natterbox, Clifford Thames, CSL Dualcom, SCM World, Amtico and TGI Fridays.
Prior roles include head of the London investment team at BGF and head of Octopus Development Capital, as well as mid-market private equity investing at AAC Capital and Levine Leichtman Capital Partners.
Grant trained as an accountant and worked in the corporate finance team at PwC before joining Freightliner group, backed by 3i, as head of corporate development.
Grant is a Chartered Accountant (FCA) and has a degree in Physics from Durham University.
James Pendower is IT Director at Gresham House, following the acquisition of TradeRisks in March 2020. At TradeRisks, he worked overseeing and managing all the IT functions for seven years, nearly three of which as IT Director.
Prior to that, he worked as Technical Manager at Phoenix SSI for over five years where he was responsible for server operations across a wide range of businesses.
He has 12 years experience in the IT industry and is certified by Microsoft as an MCITP and is a member of the iisp.
Pádraig joined Gresham House in January 2023 and is a Risk Manager in our Compliance team.
Pádraig has experience across financial services, and has led engagements with the Risk Advisory practices of KPMG, EY and PwC, including a secondment as Head of Line 1 Risk.
Pádraig has over 15 years of regulatory compliance and operational risk experience and holds a BComm (Hons), Professional Diploma in Compliance, and is a Chartered Accountant.
Joshua joined Gresham House’s Forestry Division in early 2019, focusing on forestry acquisitions and the fund management of the Forestry Limited Partnerships. Josh was appointed Fund Manager of Gresham House Forest Growth & Sustainability LP in 2021 and Gresham House Forest Fund VI LP in 2022. He is primarily responsible for implementing fund strategy, financial management, investor reporting, portfolio development and renewables development/oversight.
Josh has over 10 years experience in the financial industry. Prior to joining Gresham House, Josh worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP specialising in Pension and Insurance audits. He then moved onto Hazlewoods LLP to focus on mergers and acquisitions, concentrating on corporate due diligence.
Josh is an ACA Chartered Accountant and holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Business from Henley Business School, University of Reading.
Joe joined as Operations Manager in the Strategic Equity team in January 2023.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Joe began his career at CCLA Investment Management and has since worked in Operations/Trade Support roles across a number of Investment Management companies including, Schroders, Brown Shipley and Tilney.
Joe is currently studying for his Investment Management Certificate and holds the Investment Operations Certificate.
Mubarak joined Gresham House in May 2023.
Mubarak previously managed a portfolio of innovation projects at UKPN, working closely with engineers, researchers, designers, third-party contractors, consultants and senior business leaders to develop tools and implement projects aimed at digitising the electricity industry and facilitating the transition to net zero.
Mubarak also worked as a Connections Project Manager in the Network Operations directorate. He oversaw residential and commercial connections projects in North London and was instrumental in driving the organisation’s efforts towards cost-effective and timely project delivery.
Mubarak holds an MEng in Electrical Power Engineering from the University of Bath and is also a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Energy Managers Association as well as a PRINCE2 certified project manager.
Hamza joined Gresham House as an Investment Manager within our Private Equity team in February 2023.
He has over three years of experience investing within the European and US venture ecosystem. Initially, as an Investment Associate at Columbia Lake Partners, a European growth capital fund focused on technology investments. He then worked within the venture capital arm of NJF Capital, a family office focused on early and growth stage investing across Europe and the US.
Hamza started his career in assurance at EY, where he completed his Chartered Accountancy (ACA) qualification.
He holds a BSc in Accounting and Finance from the University of Bristol.
Masrur joined Gresham House in November 2018 having previously been at Livingbridge where he worked across the VCT and Equity Funds’. Prior to that, he spent 2 years in ecommerce and trading at Dixons Carphone and 6 months as a trainee accountant with HT Accountants. He holds a first class BSc in Accounting from the University of Westminster.
Stephen joined Gresham House in 2015.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Stephen was at Aitchesse Ltd as an Assistant Forester Manager, before being promoted to Timber Marketing Manager in 2014. Stephen is a specialist in planning, marketing and harvesting timber and has responsibility for the marketing and management of client timber sales. Prior to joining Aitchesse Ltd, he worked for three years at Smiths Gore (now Savills) managing woodlands on behalf of private clients as well as undertaking tree safety surveys.
Stephen has over 15 years of experience in UK forestry and has been a Professional Member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters for 13 years. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Forestry from the University of Wales, Bangor, graduating in 2007.
Pete joined Gresham House in March 2020, following the acquisition of TradeRisks. He is responsible for due diligence on residential acquisitions and operational performance by ReSI’s property managers and leaseholders. Pete joined TradeRisks Ltd in 2013 and has 46 years’ experience in residential portfolio management.
He has built a strong reputation in the housing sector on topics like the market dynamics and development economics. He has been an advisor to the Greater London Authority, the Scottish Government, and was a member of the team that won the Wolfson Economics Prize in 2014 on housing supply.
Pete was Chief Executive of Notting Hill Housing Group and Chief Officer at two London Boroughs.
Pete studied Engineering then Philosophy at the University of Cambridge, is an Alumni of the London Business School, and is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects.
Liz joined Gresham House from Legal & General Investment Management, where she was an Investment Reporting Analyst working with Institutional clients.
Prior to Legal & General, Liz held roles as a Client Service Analyst at Wellington Management, covering the Global Wealth channel in Europe and Asia, and as an Investor Relations Specialist at NewSmith Asset Management.
Liz holds the Investment Management Certificate and has a BA in French & Spanish from University College London.
Gemma joined Gresham House in February 2019. She is the Finance Manager for FIM Forest Fund I LP, FIM Solar Distribution and Generation, and FIM Timberland LP. Prior to joining Gresham House she gained 20 years’ experience as a management accountant in a variety of industries, including renewable energy, during her time with Opus Energy Ltd. Gemma has a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from Cardiff University and is ACCA qualified.
Louise joined Gresham House in March 2019 as HR Director. She is responsible for partnering with the management team in the development of the HR platform and the strategic HR focus of Gresham House, in addition to providing generalist HR support.
Previously Louise has HR experience working across financial institutions, including HSBC and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) as well as establishing a HR consultancy focusing on developing people solutions for organisations. Louise holds a BSc in Business Studies and Social Policy from the University of Roehampton and is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD.
Rupert has been the Managing Director of Gresham House Asset Management Ltd since September 2015. He is a member of the Group Management and Investment Committees.
Rupert has a proven track record of delivering significant value to shareholders and has over 32 years’ experience in asset management, private banking and wealth management, focusing on product innovation, investment management, business development, banking and wealth structuring.
Before joining Gresham House, Rupert was CEO and CIO of Schroders (UK) Private Bank for 11 years, and spent 17 years at Rothschild, where latterly he was Head of Private Clients for Rothschild Asset Management.
Mark is the Executive Director of ReSI Housing and ReSI Homes. He joined Gresham House in March 2020 following the acquisition of TradeRisks. Before joining ReSI Housing, Mark spent 12 years as a Chief Executive of Circle Housing Group, a 65,000-unit housing association, before merging it into the Clarion Group, the largest housing association in the UK. Prior to that, Mark held Chief Executive roles at Anglia Housing Group and Nene Housing Society. He has 38 years’ social housing experience and has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing since 1986.
Nick joined Gresham House in July 2022.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Nick spent six years working at Royal Bank of Scotland. He initially trained in audit, before spending three years working in corporate banking.
He holds a first class LLB (Hons) in Law from the University of Strathclyde, is a Chartered Accountant with ICAS, and in 2021 completed the Climate Change Transformation Programme at Edinburgh University.
Henrietta joined our Forestry division in May 2018, following the acquisition of FIM Services Ltd.
Henrietta manages existing assets and portfolios on behalf of Gresham House private clients. She takes an active role in the day-to-day management including reporting, financial management and portfolio development. Prior to joining FIM, Henrietta worked as a Rural Chartered Surveyor for private clients, responsible for managing rural estates and property in the UK.
Henrietta has over 17 years of experience in rural property.
She holds a BSc (Hons) in Land Management from the University of Reading and is a member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) (MRICS) and is a retired Fellow of Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (FAAV).
Karan joined Gresham House in June 2023.
He was previously at The Graduate Project working across all aspects of finance, processing over £4.8mn in transactions and working with over 200 clients.
Karan holds a BSc in Accounting & Finance from BPP University.
Israh joined Gresham House in March 2022 as a Team Personal Assistant in the Private Equity team.
Prior to Gresham House, Israh worked at Blossom Capital and Blue Coast Capital and has experience in Private Equity and Real Estate.
Alexandra joined in January 2021 and is a member of the Compliance team.
Prior to Gresham House, Alexandra held compliance roles at Bank of Montreal, BlueBay Asset Management, State Street Global Adviser and Toronto Dominion Bank.
Alexandra holds an LLB (Hons) in Law from the University of Buckingham and has studied with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
Ana joined Gresham House in September 2022 and is responsible for implementing the EPCM structure and delivering the New Energy team’s project pipeline.
Ana is a multi-skilled professional with 12 years of experience delivering innovative, award-winning renewable energy projects in the UK.
Previously, Ana helped to establish quality management, project delivery, and commercial project functions at GRIDSERVE Sustainable Energy. She also successfully delivered the UK’s first Electric Forecourt and subsidy-free solar and battery storage hybrid projects with bi-facial panels and tracking technology. Before joining GRIDSERVE, Ana was part of the BELECTRIC projects team building utility-scale solar farms.
Cara joined Gresham House in August 2019 as a Team Administrator within the Oxford team. She was promoted to Associate Administrator in 2022.
Cara predominantly produces Fund reports across the Group while also being the lead on the production of any new product Investment Memorandums.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Cara worked for a packaging and brand design company as an Office Administrator.
Jason Sinden is an Investment Director in Gresham House Forestry, where he primarily focuses on acquisitions. Jason was the Forestry Director for FIM Services Ltd which was acquired by Gresham House in May 2018. Jason began working in forestry investment with FIM Services Ltd as an Investment Manager in 2000, before leaving to join Tilhill Forestry in 2005. At Tilhill Forestry, he developed the forestry investment business, and was promoted to Investment and Property Director in 2015 before re-joining FIM Services Ltd in 2017 as a Forestry Director. Jason has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, together with a further five years in the forestry and timber processing industry. During his career, he has worked on many high-profile forestry acquisitions and woodland creation projects in the UK, as well as investment projects in Scandinavia and eastern Europe. He graduated from the University of Aberdeen with an Honours Degree in Forest Management, before completing an MBA from the Open University. This was followed by the Senior Management Development Programme at IMD (Lausanne). Jason is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Foresters and a Chartered Surveyor.
Sharan joined Gresham House in April 2021. Prior to this he spent four years at Octopus Investments, where he focused on renewable energy investment transactions (£165mn closed) and fundraising (£600mn closed).
He has six years’ experience in finance, with a BSc (Hons) in Business Management from King’s College London and an MSc from Imperial College London in Economics and Strategy.
He also has four years’ experience working on a technology start-up, which he co-founded while at university.
Sharan used to play chess for Great Britain.
Elliot joined Gresham House in October 2022 to support the daily operations of the asset management team.
Previously, Elliot worked at Anesco Ltd as a Performance Analyst, where he was responsible for the operation and maintenance of 240MW of solar assets across the UK and Europe.
Elliot holds a BA (Hons) in Business Management from Regent’s University London.
Trish joined the Mobeus VCT team in January 2020 and is responsible for governance and compliance affairs for listed clients.
Trish previously held roles at M&G Investments and Octopus Investments on several VCTs.
She is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.
David joined Gresham House in January 2022 as Fund Controller working on BSIF strategies within our Sustainable Infrastructure team.
Prior to joining Gresham House, David worked as an Audit and Corporate Finance Manager at Magma Chartered Accountants, specialising in full audit services across SME owner-managed businesses, renewable energy companies, fund accounting and auditing of international listed groups.
David has 10 years’ experience working in the financial services industry.
Oliver joined Gresham House as Finance Manager.
Oliver has over 14 years’ experience in accountancy and finance, working within both the public and private sectors. More recently he was the Finance Manager for an Oxford based venture capitalist, with a background in developing and running small to medium size businesses.
Oliver is CIMA and AAT qualified.
Lefteris joined Gresham House in March 2023 and is responsible for sourcing and executing energy storage investment opportunities.
Lefteris has over 15 years of experience in infrastructure and energy transition investments. He has held principal investment and advisory roles with large institutions such as Columbia Threadneedle Investments, National Pension Service of South Korea (NPS), Macquarie, and Société Générale, as well as corporate and business development roles with Libra Group and Maple Power.
He is a seasoned investor who has worked across a range of sectors including solar PV, onshore and offshore wind, anaerobic digestion, and hydroelectric power.
Lefteris holds a MSc in Finance from Imperial College London and a BSc in Management Science from Athens University of Economics and Business.
Beata joined Gresham House in 2019 and is a Finance Analyst. Prior to this, Beata worked in the finance department of a multi-site training company based near Milton Keynes. She is currently studying towards the AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting.
Ramano joined Gresham House in September 2023 as Financial Planning and Analysis Manager Manager.
Ramano has over 7 years of finance experience. After graduating from university he joined PwC and obtained his Chartered Accountancy qualification in 2020.
In 2021, he joined BDO UK where he has worked with a range of various listed and non-listed entities.
He gained his CA(SA) qualification in 2020 and holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) from the University of Stellenbosch.
Oliver joined Gresham House in July 2023.
Oliver has 13 years of experience, including nine years as Group Financial Controller at Fiera Real Estate UK (formerly Palmer Capital). During this time Oliver was responsible for all corporate financial matters, including oversight of the acquisition by Fiera Capital Corporation, a leading global asset management firm.
Oliver began his career at Rees Pollock and trained as a Chartered Accountant, with an emphasis on fund managers and other FCA-regulated clients.
Oliver holds an Associate Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) qualification and a BA in Mathematics from the University of Oxford.
Joe is a Director of Investment, focused primarily on sourcing and executing new investments for the Housing team. Prior to joining Gresham House, Joe worked for Lloyds Banking Group in their structured finance team, primarily supporting UK companies with the structuring and execution of secured capital markets transactions across the UK Real Assets space. At Lloyds, Joe was involved in a number of securitisations transactions as well as working within the corporate restructuring and private equity investment teams. Joe holds a BA (Hons) and MA from Durham University and is a CFA charter holder.
Ryane joined Gresham House in March 2022 to support the creation of a wide variety of marketing materials, printed collateral, and digital assets with the aim of helping to raise brand awareness, support fundraising targets, and promote content across all investment strategies, enhancing the visual experience for stakeholders and potential investors.
He has 8 years’ experience working as a graphic designer on a wide range of marketing collateral, seeking ways to innovate both as the sole designer and as part of a creative team.
Prior to Gresham House, Ryane worked at National Employment Savings Trust (Nest) on a variety of projects for both print and web including specialist areas such as large format print, illustration, motion graphics, and video editing. He is an Adobe Certified Associate in After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop & Premiere Pro.
Karen joined Gresham House in April 2019 and works as a Finance Assistant supporting the Finance Managers in our Oxford office. Prior to this, Karen spent 11 years working in the finance department at CAE Oxford Aviation Academy.
Izzy leads on sustainable forestry and real asset investments in the UK and internationally, and is author of various thought leadership pieces including the Global Timber Outlook. He joined Gresham House in May 2018 following the acquisition of FIM Services Ltd.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Izzy worked for six years in commercial real estate advisory, building out investment and agency team platforms at Cushman & Wakefield (and formerly DTZ), Knight Frank, and Strutt and Parker. Prior to this he worked as an Investment Analyst at European equity hedge fund Libra Equity.
Izzy is the youngest visiting professor at the prestigious IEB University in Madrid, teaching the CFA curriculum for five years. He has a combined 14 years’ of experience, is a CFA charterholder, and has an MSc in Finance from the University of Exeter. He is also fluent in Spanish and Dutch.
Burak joined Gresham House in February 2023.
Burak has nearly two decades of experience in the residential investment sector, both as a principal and advisor. During his career, he has completed over £1.5bn worth of investment transactions in wide ranging residential asset classes with particular focus in affordable housing. Burak was responsible for Assettrust Housing Limited’s corporate finance activities in the mid-2000s and instrumental in deploying circa £250mn investment capital in affordable housing assets without using public subsidy. Burak spent over eight years in the advisory sector with director level roles held at JLL and Avison Young before co-founding Crescom Partners Ltd. in 2021.
Burak holds a BSc in Statistics, and a MSc in Investment and Finance. Latterly, he earned his MBA from Warwick Business School in 2015.
Nick joined Gresham House in January 2021. He has over 20 years’ accounting and finance experience, having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2000.
Prior to Gresham House, Nick worked as Finance Director for an internationally focused property investment group and before that was Associate Director of Tax at Temenos Group SA in Switzerland.
Nick holds a BA (Hons) in History with Information Technology from the University of Exeter and is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor.
Charlie is an Investment Director in the Gresham House New Energy team. His current role began in February 2021, following a year in the team as a contractor. He is responsible for executing investments in infrastructure projects such as energy storage systems, whether acquired before construction or when already operational.
Charlie has extensive experience in the development, funding and asset management of distributed energy infrastructure projects assisting both investment managers and project developers at every stage of bringing their projects to fruition. He has worked on projects in a wide range of technologies including solar PV, hydroelectric power, anaerobic digestion, combined heat and power, thermal heat networks, gas peaking and grid-scale battery storage.
He started his career over 20 years ago as a commercial solicitor before transitioning to renewable energy, working with investment management firms for the last nine years.
Charlie studied science of materials at Trinity College Dublin and has an MBA from INSEAD, France.
Nikos joined Gresham House in September 2023 as a Technical Asset Manager in the New Energy team.
Nikos has 10 years’ experience in the Renewable Energy sector, specialising in solar energy. Before joining Gresham House, he served the last 3 years at Lightsource Labs (subsidiary of Lightsourcebp) as a Senior Technical Operations Manager. In this position, Nikos managed and operated residential solar hybrid Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) assets across the United Kingdom, ensuring their optimal performance.
Nikos holds an MSc in Renewable Energy Engineering from the Kingston University of London and a BEng in Electrical Engineering from the Technological Educational Institution of Chalkida (Greece).
Jonathan joined Gresham House in August 2021.
Before joining Gresham House, Jonathan worked at Morgan Stanley for six years, most recently as a research analyst within the Sustainability Research team ranked number one for SRI research in the 2020 European Institutional Investor survey. His primary areas of focus included cross-sector sustainability research and European sustainable finance regulation, as well as working closely with the firm’s institutional clients on incorporating ESG into their investment processes.
Prior to this Jonathan worked as a stock-covering analyst in Morgan Stanley’s Property Research team with particular focus on pan-European industrial and logistics property. He started his career as a European equity trader.
Jonathan holds a first-class degree in English Literature from the University of Bristol and is a CFA charter holder.
Alison has broad experience in forestry fund accounting, management and administration. Alison holds an HND in Accounting from the Abertay University. Her experience has largely been in the oil and maritime support services sector, during which time she has become a partially qualified ACCA.
Ciarán joined Gresham House in March 2021.
He began his forestry career as a timber harvesting manager in Ireland and over the past nine years has worked in a variety of roles in commercial forest management and regulation. He has experience in both the public and private sectors in the UK and Ireland working within the forestry regulatory environment and in large scale commercial forest management, resource planning and timber harvesting.
Ciarán holds a first-class degree in forestry from University College Dublin.
Teddy Wang joined as Middle Office Administrator in July 2022. Teddy has a BA in Financial Services and Economics and an MSc in Financial Risk Management. Outside of work, Teddy volunteers in an Irish NGO in the area of mental health.
Maya joined Gresham House in September 2019, having spent 4 years at Octopus Investments, investing in real estate-backed healthcare companies and entrepreneurs.
Prior to that she worked at KPMG for 7 years in audit and corporate finance.
She has a first class degree in Modern History from Oxford and is a Chartered Accountant.
Alistair is an Investment Director for the Housing team at Gresham House having joined the firm in January 2021. He has over 15 years of principal Real Assets investment experience, with a particular focus on the residential sector, including UK Build to Rent and US Multifamily.
Before joining Gresham House, Alistair worked at real estate private equity firm Henley Investment Management. He joined Henley following an attempted MBO of Atlas Residential’s UK business, where he led the Acquisitions team and was involved in over £250m of the earliest Build to Rent investments in the UK.
Alistair started his career as an Investment Banker with Macquarie Capital in London and holds an LLB (Hons) in Law from University College London.
Ed brings nearly 20 years’ experience of helping SMEs to create and realise shareholder value to his role. He has been working with Mobeus VCT management teams since 2017 to help them achieve their ambitions for growth and has overseen several notable exits in that time, including Automated Systems Group, Access-IS and Auction Technology Group. He also led the successful IPO of Virgin Wines in 2021.
Ed represents the Mobeus VCTs directly on the Board of several businesses, including Virgin Wines, RotaGeek and Vivacity Labs. His previous roles include CIO at Catapult Ventures in Assurance and Business Recovery Services at PwC. Ed was named one of Real Deals’ Future 40 Investment Leaders in April 2021.
He holds a BA (Hons) in Ancient History from the University of Nottingham and is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW).
Tom Joined Gresham House in April 2022 as a Site Condition Monitoring Engineer and is now a Data Scientist in the New Energy division.
Before joining Gresham House, Tom completed an MPhil in Physics at the University of Bath with the thesis title “Towards Brillouin Enabled Photonic Switching and Quantum Memories”. During this time, he investigated the viability of two photonic devices for use in linear optic quantum computing platforms both theoretically and experimentally and developed a unique set of skills allowing for a wide variety of applications.
Prior to his time in Bath, Tom studied for a BSc in Physics at Aberystwyth University and an MSc in Diamond Science and Technology at the University of Warwick, during which time he completed research placements at Strathclyde University and the University of Oxford.
Ross joined Gresham House in July 2021 as Financial Controller within the Housing team.
Prior to starting with Gresham House, Ross was the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager at a Wealth Planning and Investment Management company.
Ross is an ACA qualified Chartered Accountant and graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Physics and Forensic Applications in 2015.
Rees joined the Wholesale Distribution team in July 2022.
Prior to joining Gresham House, Rees worked within the UK Investor Relations team at Comgest Asset Management and within the Asset Management team at Willis Towers Watson.
Rees is currently studying for his Investment Management Certificate.
Giles joined the Mobeus VCTs in 2020. He brings over 11 years’ experience of helping SMEs to create and realise shareholder value. His other main focus is running Vedge Snacks, his start-up food company.
Giles is a generalist with particular experience in business services, recycling and renewable energy. He previously held the role of Investment Director at Growth Capital Partners and YFM Equity Partners. Prior to this, he spent time at Foresight Group, EY and HSBC Investment Bank.
He holds a BSc in Economics & Economic History from the University of Bristol and is a Chartered Accountant (ICAS).
Fergus has worked at TradeRisks since 2018 and is focussed on origination, finding new sponsors and advising on appropriate new capital. Fergus also leads on investor relations for the capital markets desk. His other key focus is origination for Gresham House’s affordable housing funds, including shared ownership and build-to-rent strategies.
Fergus holds an undergraduate degree from Edinburgh University and an MSc from Goldsmiths College.
Michael Woodman is Director of Structuring, Housing at Gresham House following the acquisition of TradeRisks in March 2020.
Michael had been legal counsel at TradeRisks since 2012 and joined with experience in debt capital markets from an international law firm, having advised clients on a range of capital markets and banking transactions. Michael works closely with client managers and has been responsible for structuring, legal and settlement elements on all financing transactions arranged by TradeRisks. For ReSI Capital Management Limited, Michael has worked closely with the origination team, ensuring deployment of funds, and the investment management team, tasked with borrowing against fund assets in accordance with the investment objective.
Michael is a dual-qualified solicitor active in corporate finance since 2005 and holds an LLB (Hons) from University College London.
Emma joined Gresham House’s Forestry Division as an Associate Director in May 2022.
Emma has over 10 years experience in the financial industry. Prior to Gresham House, Emma has held Head of Finance positions at ClimateCare, who manage carbon reduction projects and trade carbon certificates, and at Novitas Loans, Close Brothers, where she was responsible for financial analysis, strategy development, accounts, budgeting, forecasting and leading and building Finance functions during times of rapid growth. Previously, Emma worked as a Fund Accountant at Foresight Group.
Emma is a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and holds a first class BSc in Mathematics from the University of Exeter.
Ken is Managing Director, Public Equity, and leads the investment team managing public equity investments. He is lead manager for LF Gresham House UK Micro Cap Fund, LF Gresham House UK Multi Cap Income Fund, Strategic Equity Capital plc and manages AIM listed portfolios on behalf of the Baronsmead VCTs. Ken graduated from Brasenose College, Oxford, before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG. He was an equity research analyst with Commerzbank and then Evolution Securities prior to spending the past 12 years as a Fund Manager at Livingbridge and now Gresham House specialising in smaller companies.
Joseph joined Gresham House in September 2023 as a Finance Assistant in our Strategic Equity team.
Prior to joining Gresham house, Joseph has had client-facing experience in Venture Capital at Kin Capital.
Joseph has a BA in Economics from De Montfort University and has completed the IMC certification.
Sophie joined Gresham House in February 2021 as a Finance Manager.
Previously she was a Management Accountant within the fleet industry overseeing the preparation of monthly management packs as well as developing and preparing financial reports to assist with high level business decisions.
She has over 13 years of experience in both accountancy firm and SME commercial industry with comprehensive technical knowledge in management accounting and financial accounting. She holds a Postgraduate Graduate Certificate in Business Administration as well as a BSs (Hons) in Applied Accounting and is a Chartered Accountant with ACCA.
Sophie also has international experience from working in Singapore as a Senior Accountant specialising in accounting and taxation and fluent in mandarin.
Judi joined Gresham House in January 2022. She has over six years’ experience in residential property management. Prior to joining Gresham House, Judi worked for a leading managing agent assisting with the management of a mixed tenure residential development. Previously, she managed a portfolio of BTR properties where she was responsible for overseeing the day to day operations whilst ensuring full compliance across the portfolio.
Judi is a Member of the Institute of Residential Property Management
